Is the choice for Federal Reserve Chair not just between two candidates? Waller to be interviewed
Is the Choice for Federal Reserve Chair Not Just Between Two Candidates? Waller to Be Interviewed 2025-12-16 20:03 BlockBeats news, December 17, according to WSJ, sources revealed that Trump will interview current Federal Reserve Governor Waller on Wednesday local time regarding the selection of the next Federal Reserve Chair. Last week, Trump interviewed former Federal Reserve Governor Kevin Warsh. Trump stated that Warsh and Hassett are currently his two favorite candidates. Since the beginning of this year, Waller has become the main voice within the Federal Reserve advocating for rate cuts. At the Federal Reserve's July meeting, where rates were kept unchanged, Waller cast a dissenting vote in support of a rate cut. Waller is the most favored candidate for Federal Reserve Chair among economists and is highly regarded on Wall Street, as his arguments for rate cuts this year have been considered logically clear and consistent, and he is seen as capable of bridging the growing divisions within the Federal Reserve. Several of his arguments for rate cuts have already been adopted by current Chair Powell. Waller is scheduled to deliver a speech on the economic outlook on Wednesday evening Beijing time.
