Iraq’s border port authority announced on the 2nd that 70 oil tankers loaded with crude oil entered Syria from Iraq via the Rabia border crossing that day.
This marks Iraq's reopening of this land-based oil transportation route after a 13-year hiatus. The Rabia border crossing is located in Ninawa Province in northwest Iraq. It had remained closed for a long time following the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011, only reopening this April. This border crossing is not far from the oil fields in Mosul and Kirkuk in northern Iraq.

At a neighboring berth, the German vessel "Arabellina Ha" was simultaneously conducting intensive unloading operations, carrying over 260 containers of Egyptian goods. These imported containers include a variety of African specialty products such as stone, minerals, metals, and chemical products, which have successfully entered the Chinese market. As the core hub of China’s international shipping, since May 1st, Shanghai Yangshan Deep Water Port and Waigaoqiao Port have continuously received several international vessels calling at multiple African ports, with cargo ships laden with African specialty goods arriving in quick succession. These arrivals represent one of the first direct outcomes of the new zero-tariff policy on African imports.

Iran States All Traffic in Strait of Hormuz Requires Iranian Permission
On May 3, local time, the chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Civil Affairs Committee stated that according to the Parliament's plan for managing the Strait of Hormuz, all traffic in the Strait must obtain permission from Iran, and any goods belonging to Israel are prohibited from passing under any circumstances. Hostile countries engaged in conflict with Iran are not allowed to transit the Strait of Hormuz until compensation for damages is provided. (CCTV News)
