SEC Chairman Denies Cryptocurrency’s Role in Capital Markets
On December 13th, the Chairman of the U.S. SEC, Gary Gensler, dismissed the idea of a spot Bitcoin ETF in a conversation with Bloomberg. He stated, "Crypto securities are not only much smaller in scale, but they are not the way we provide funding for the government or execute monetary policy. Many investors have been harmed in this market due to too much illicit activity."
