Safe Community Votes to Pass Proposal to Enable Transferability of SAFE Tokens
The Safe community has passed a proposal to enable transferability of the SAFE token on the infrastructure of the intelligent wallet, Safe. Due to protective measures, the earliest date for transferability of the SAFE token is eight days after the end of the voting period, currently set for April 23, 2024. The proposal states that when the SAFE token was launched in September 2022, it was non-transferable. SafeDAO governance controls the function to cancel the suspension in the token contract, enabling transferability of the SAFE token. The original SafeDAO proposal (SEP #23) to make the SAFE token transferable was not implemented due to 73.63% opposition votes.
