Opera partners with Google to enhance AI assistant Aria with Imagen 2 and Gemini models, challenging Microsoft's Edge and Brave's Leo.
Opera has partnered with Google to integrate its AI assistant, Aria, with Google's Imagen 2 image generation model and Gemini text-based chatbot. This collaboration will provide Opera users with higher-quality responses comparable to those obtained via GPT-4. The update is available in Opera Developer, where users can preview and test upcoming features. Additionally, the integration of Google's text-to-audio model enables Opera's AI to speak responses in a conversational manner. Meanwhile, Microsoft's Edge browser has surpassed Apple's Safari to claim the number two spot in the browser market, thanks to its AI-powered features and the announcement of its unified Copilot experience. Brave, the privacy-focused crypto-browser, also offers its own AI assistant, Leo, hosted on its own servers.
