The Graph Foundation Completes Sunrise Project, Transitioning The Graph to a Fully Decentralized Data Layer
The Graph Foundation has completed the Sunrise plan, marking the transition of the blockchain data indexing and query protocol The Graph to a fully decentralized data layer.
It is reported that Sunrise completed a three-stage decentralized plan, in which subgraphs upgraded from centralized hosting services to The Graph's global distributed network, which is composed of individuals incentivized by tokens and independent companies serving as data indexers.
The Graph introduced subgraph technology to index Ethereum in 2018, but has now indexed over 55 chains, including Optimism, Base, Arbitrum, Avalanche, NEAR, and Cosmos.
