VanEck Executive: Over $60 Trillion in Inheritance Could Flow into Cryptocurrency in the Next 20 Years
News on July 9th, Matthew Sigel, the director of digital asset research at VanEck, stated that over $60 trillion in inheritance could potentially flow into cryptocurrency in the next 20 years. Sigel cited a 2024 study by Bank of America's private bank which claimed that by 2045, Generation X, millennials and future generations will inherit $84 trillion from older generations and baby boomers. In order to channel $60 trillion into cryptocurrency, young American investors aged between 21-43 must inherit $42 trillion from the baby boomer generation and consistently allocate 14% of their funds for investment in cryptocurrencies. Over the next two decades, these young investors would need to invest $300 billion annually.
