Powell: I haven't spoken to Biden for two years and I haven't noticed any cognitive decline in him before
Federal Reserve Chairman Powell stated that he did not see any signs of a decline in President Biden's spirit or cognitive ability during their phone or talk. They last spoke over two years ago. Representative Mike Lawler asked Powell if he had any private conversations with Biden since their public meeting in May 2022. Powell said, "I haven't met with him. He hasn't planned to arrange a meeting with me, and of course, I don't have that plan either. It's not strange that I haven't met with the President recently because the Federal Reserve is an independent institution, and Biden has always respected this." When asked if he noticed any signs of a decline in the President's spirit or cognitive ability during their interaction, Powell said he did not notice any.
