India plans to publish a cryptocurrency discussion paper by September
India plans to release a cryptocurrency discussion paper in response to the G20 countries' support for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Financial Stability Board (FSB) guidelines during India's G20 presidency last year, Gold Finance reports. The cryptocurrency discussion paper is being developed by an inter-ministerial group comprising members of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and is expected to be ready by September. In an interview with Moneycontrol, India's economic affairs minister Ajay Seth said the discussion paper will include recommendations on how to regulate cryptocurrencies in India, which are currently only regulated by anti-money laundering (AML) and electronic funds transfer (EFT) laws.
