Michael Saylor Predicts Bitcoin Price to Reach $13 Million by 2045
MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor remains very optimistic about the future of bitcoin. Speaking at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Saylor predicted that the price of bitcoin could rise to $13 million by 2045 in his base case scenario. He noted that Bitcoin's current price is around $65,000, and its market capitalisation of $1.3 trillion represents just 0.1 per cent of global wealth.
Sailer explained that for bitcoin to reach $13 million by 2045, it would need an annual return of 29 per cent. At that level, Bitcoin would have a market cap of $280 trillion, or 7 per cent of global wealth. In a more optimistic scenario, Sailer believes bitcoin could be worth as much as $49 million, or 22 per cent of global wealth. Conversely, in a pessimistic scenario, he estimates Bitcoin's value at $3 million, or 2 percent of global wealth.
Under Sailer's leadership, MicroStrategy has amassed 226,331 Bitcoin tokens over the past four years, which are currently worth about $15 billion. This represents an 80 per cent increase over the cumulative purchase price.
