Institutional: Fed may cut rates in September, but data remains key
Markets are strongly expecting the U.S. to cut interest rates starting in September, but nothing is certain and next month's rate cut will still depend on upcoming economic data, said the CEO of Aymara International Fund. Inflation has been falling and is approaching the Fed's target, while high interest rates continue to put pressure on the economy and job market. The Fed left interest rates unchanged on Wednesday, but opened the door for a rate cut in September. Markets now expect three possible rate cuts this year, with further cuts expected in 2025.
