Trump insists on debating with Harris on September 4th, otherwise he will not debate
According to a report by PANews on August 4, Trump hopes to debate with Harris on Fox News on September 4. In response, Harris's campaign spokesperson said that Harris hopes to stick to the plan of debating on ABC on September 10. To this, Trump stated that he would either debate with Harris on September 4 or not at all.
Earlier news reported that after finishing a two-day visit to Indiana and Texas, Vice President Harris returned to Washington and told reporters she was ready for the debate with Trump scheduled for September 10. She said: "I agree with the previously agreed upon date of September 10 for the debate. Trump had also agreed before but now it seems like he wants to back out. Voters should see the differences in this election through debates." Previously, Trump told reporters that he would "absolutely" have at least one debate with Harris before Election Day but added that as far as debating with Harris is concerned, he has not "agreed to anything". Both Trump and Biden agreed to hold two debates - one on June 27 and another one planned for September 10. Currently, enough delegates support Harris making her likely Democratic candidate nominee. The Democratic National Convention will be held in Chicago from August 19-22.
