Placeholder Partner: 2022 Mostly Focused on SOL So Far
Chris Burniske, former head of crypto at Ark Invest and now a partner at Placeholder VC, posted on the X platform, “Each cycle I usually focus most of my attention on one major dark horse project. from 2014 to 2017 it was BTC, from 2018 to 2021 it was ETH, and from 2022 to now it's SOL. stay flexible and avoid dogmatism. In the meantime, I still hold BTC and continue to pledge ETH. why focus on SOL now?I'm personally more interested in the dynamics when a project is a dark horse full of hustle but differentiated. Not to mention, many people will back projects that are already established (which reduces the marginal benefit of my support), and far fewer are willing to take a chance on a dark horse project because of the career risk it entails, among other factors. The transition from dark horse to established is what I do best. So, one day, I may focus most of my efforts on other projects besides SOL. In the meantime, cryptocurrencies remain a dark horse, so I support all sincere efforts, although I will highlight relative excellence each cycle.”
