Here’s What You Need to Know from the Latest Ethereum Developer Meeting
On August 8, 2024, Ethereum developers met for the 139th All Core Developers Consensus (ACDC) call, chaired by Alex Stokes.
Key discussions included updates to the Pectra upgrade and issues with the Beacon Chain’s consensus layer.
Pectra Devnet 2 Hsiao Wei Wang announced the alpha.4 release of the Pectra consensus layer, with 85% network participation. Issues persist with EthereumJS, Erigon, and minor bugs in the Prysm client, as well as concerns with Lighthouse, Teku, and Besu nodes.
Coordination for Devnet 3 To address past communication lapses, weekly meetings will be held to update teams on Pectra testing. Devnet 3 will use the EIP 7702 design. Issues with EIP 7251 from Devnet 2 will be further examined in upcoming tests.

The call ended with a push for prompt decisions on execution payload changes to keep development on track.
