Former US President and Republican nominee Donald Trump did not mention Bitcoin and crypto once during a recent interview on X with Elon Musk.
The 2-hour interview on Monday evening covered a broad range of topics, including the economy, illegal immigration, AI and global warming. More than 1 million people listened in on the interview .
Trump Interview Delayed By Supposed DDoS Attack
The interview was delayed for more than 45 minutes. Musk said this was due to a “massive DDOS attack on X.” At the beginning of the X Space once it finally went live, Musk added that the attack illustrates “there’s a lot of opposition to people just hearing what President Trump has to say.”
Cybersecurity watchdog organization Netblocks confirmed in an Aug. 13 post that X Spaces experienced an international outage. However, it did not confirm whether the technical difficulties were the result of a DDoS attack.
Throughout the interview, both Trump and Musk decided not to mention Bitcoin and crypto in the discussion. This was the opposite of what Polymarket bettors thought would happen, with users of the platform predicting a 65% chance that digital assets would be talked about during the session. Odds of a “Bitcoin” mention peaked at 69% prior to the interview.
After the interview with Trump, Musk posted that he would be happy to host Harris on X Spaces as well.
Harris Leads In Polymarket Bets
Since current US President Joe Biden announced he will not run for a second term, Harris’ popularity on Polymarket has skyrocketed.
In the past couple of days, odds that the Vice President will take the White House this election have surpassed that in favor of Trump. Polymarket bettors see a 62% chance that Harris will win, with bets of a Trump victory standing at 46%.
