Ethereum Co-Founder Vitalik Buterin has once again displayed his mighty chadhood after donating half a million in Neiro meme coins to an animal charity.

Buterin sold $532,000 worth of meme coins for 200 Ethereum and sent it to the Effective Altruism Funds, an animal welfare initiative. The viral Neiro (NEIRO) meme coin accounted for $241,000 (44.4 ETH) of the total amount. The rest was made up of various other ERC-20 meme coins.
Projects regularly send tokens to the Ethereum founder as a marketing play. This is done to try to gain exposure due to the public nature of Buterin’s Vitalik.eth’ ENS wallet. ENS is an ETH-based naming service that allows users to assign easy-to-read names to on-chain addresses.

This isn’t the first time that he has done this. In May 2021, he donated $1.2 billion to India’s COVID-19 relief fund in the form of the Shiba Inu (SHIB) and other dog-themed meme coins.
Similar to his latest donation, the project developers sent the meme tokens to his wallet.
Following this latest $532,000 donation , Vitalik has called on projects to donate directly to charities rather than using him as a middle-man.
He asked the crypto community to engage in “more sophisticated public goods funding” while linking to an article urging crypto projects to be more creative, giving, and wholesome.
Buterin has regularly advocated for more meme coins that adopt a positive and giving end goal.
