VanEck: 20% Shift in Bitcoin Miners to AI and HPC Could Bring in $13.9 Billion Annually
VanEck noted in a report that bitcoin miners have the opportunity to generate about $13.9 billion in additional annual revenue if they partially transition to powering the artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) space by 2027.
According to the report, “Bitcoin miners typically have terrible balance sheets, either because of too much debt, too much stock issuance, too much executive compensation, or a combination of all three.”
VanEck estimates that if publicly traded bitcoin mining companies shifted 20% of their energy capacity to AI and HPC by 2027, “total additional profits could average more than $13.9 billion per year over 13 years.”
