US Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris Announces Party Program: Does It Mention Cryptocurrencies?

Kamala Harris, one of the strong candidates for President in the USA, shared her party program in her official statement.

The Democratic Party in the USA officially announced its party program at the beginning of the Democratic National Convention, but it was noteworthy that the document did not mention Blockchain technology, Bitcoin, digital assets, cryptocurrencies or related topics.

The fact that these issues were not included in the platform, especially in contrast to the Republican Party's stance on the issue, drew backlash.

Fox Business correspondent Eleanor Terrett noted that the Republican Party's program includes a special section on “supporting innovation,” covering cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence and space travel.

The Democrats’ platform, released over the weekend, appears to have been drafted and approved before President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race. According to NBC News, the document was finalized by the Platform Committee on July 16, just days before Biden dropped out of the race on July 21. The document will be formally voted on by convention delegates on Monday night in what is expected to be a largely ceremonial procedure.

Following Biden’s departure, there has been a concerted effort by both entrepreneurs and lawmakers to strengthen ties between the cryptocurrency industry and presumptive Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris. Last week, local network Crypto4Harris held a meeting to discuss the Democratic Party’s vision for digital asset innovation and regulation.
