Chainlink's steady performance continues as market activity slows

Chainlink (CRYPTO:LINK) has been consolidating within a horizontal trading channel over recent weeks, fluctuating between a support level of $10.06 and resistance at $10.78.

Currently, LINK is trading near its support level, around $10.14, indicating a period of market indecision.

The flat movement of LINK’s Relative Strength Index (RSI), currently at 40.83, reflects this consolidation, showing a balance between buying and selling pressures without a clear directional trend.

This flat RSI suggests that the market is neither strongly bullish nor bearish, leading to a sideways price movement.

On-chain data from Santiment highlights that the daily transaction volume of LINK is skewed towards losses rather than profits, with a ratio of 0.76.

This indicates that for every transaction resulting in a loss, only 0.76 transactions yield a profit.

Despite this, the ongoing price consolidation presents a potential buying opportunity for investors willing to trade against the market.

LINK’s Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) ratios further reinforce this buying signal.

With 30-day and 90-day MVRV ratios of -10.39 and -22.73, respectively, the token appears undervalued, suggesting that it could be a good time to "buy the dip."

The MVRV ratio compares an asset's current market price to the average price of its circulating tokens, and a ratio below zero typically indicates an undervalued asset.

Looking ahead, LINK’s price is at a critical juncture.

If the support level near $10.06 fails to hold, LINK could face a decline toward $8.17.

However, if buying pressure increases and LINK breaks above the $10.78 resistance, the token could rally to $11.64, invalidating the bearish outlook.

This period of consolidation provides both risks and opportunities for LINK investors, depending on how the market dynamics evolve.
