A Russian Citizen Arrested in Argentina on Suspicion of Cryptocurrency Money Laundering
TRM Labs has disclosed that it has assisted Argentine law enforcement agencies in the arrest of a Russian citizen who is known to be involved in a multi-million dollar money laundering operation.The 29-year-old suspect accepted cryptocurrency benefits from illegal actors, which also included the hacker group Lazarus Group, in addition to the suspect's use of a Telegram bot to convert rubles, USDT, euros, and USD into Argentine pesos, police seized cryptocurrencies worth over $120,000 during the arrest and another $15 million from property under the suspect's control.
