Trump: If Zuckerberg interferes with the US presidential election again, he will "end up in jail"
On August 30th, according to POLITICO, former U.S. President Donald Trump wrote in his upcoming book that Mark Zuckerberg conspired against him during the 2020 U.S. election and stated that if Zuckerberg did so again, he would "spend the rest of his life in prison". This represents Trump's latest attack on Zuckerberg, whom he has repeatedly accused of interfering with the previous U.S. presidential election. The comment also comes as Meta takes steps to assure conservatives it will not influence this year's campaign activities.
"Save America", a book written by Trump, will be published on September 3rd and includes an undated photo of Trump meeting with Zuckerberg at the White House. Trump mentioned that Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan donated $420 million during the 2020 election for funding electoral infrastructure.
"He told me no one could beat Trump on Facebook," said Trump. "But for some reason unknown to me, he guided it towards my disadvantage."
Trump continued: "We are watching him closely; if he does anything illegal this time around, he'll spend his entire life in jail - as will anyone else who cheats in the 2024 US Presidential Election." A spokesperson from Meta did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
