Foreign Media: Musk Faces Threats as Record-Breaking Marketers Cut Advertising Spending on X Platfor
According to the Financial Times, a record number of advertisers plan to withdraw from X next year due to concerns about being associated with extremist content, dealing a blow to Elon Musk's efforts to turn around the company's financial situation. According to a global survey conducted by analysis group Kantar among industry executives, 26% of marketers plan to cut advertising spending on X in 2025, which is the largest drop ever recorded for major global advertising platforms. Since Musk took over X in 2022 and decided to relax content review based on the spirit of free speech, big brands have been pulling out of X. The survey shows that advertisers' trust in this platform has significantly declined over the past year; only 4% of marketers say that ads on X are "brand safe", while this proportion for Google is 39%.
