Ripple Executive Chris Larsen Supports Kamala Harris
In addition, David Plouffe, previously an advisor for Binance and Alchemy Pay, has also joined Harris' campaign team.
Chris Larsen, co-founder and executive chairman of Ripple—the company behind the XRP cryptocurrency—has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election. Larsen’s support comes as part of a broader effort from various corporate leaders.
A letter signed by Larsen and 87 other influential figures, including Aaron Levie (CEO of Box), Yelp’s Jeremy Stoppelman, and Snap’s Michael Lynton, publicly backs Harris.
This endorsement follows the recent departure of Gene Sperling, a former Ripple board member, from his White House role to join Harris’ campaign. Sperling, known for his work as an economic advisor under past presidents, now plays a key role in Harris’ presidential bid.
In addition, David Plouffe, previously an advisor for Binance and Alchemy Pay, has also joined Harris’ campaign team. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has speculated that the election could lead to significant changes in crypto regulation, including the possible departure of SEC Chair Gary Gensler.
With the election approaching, the crypto industry’s influence on politics is evident. Harris’s PAC has even started accepting crypto donations.
Meanwhile, other crypto leaders, like ARK Invest’s Cathie Wood and Gemini’s Winklevoss twins, have also shown support for presidential candidates, signaling how important crypto is in this election cycle.
