Wu Says: Shenzhen University Alumnus Zhang Yufeng Suspected of Fraud After Fake Donation of 50 Million, Multiple Victims Report to Police
According to an interview by Colin, the chief editor of Wu Blockchain, with Huang Yifeng, a senior from Shenzhen University, Zhang Yufeng, who was previously reported by multiple media outlets to have donated 50 million to Shenzhen University a year after graduation, was later exposed for fabricating much of his resume. In reality, he did not donate, did not graduate properly, defaulted on online loans, and forged his identity as an FTX employee, among other things. Additionally, after gaining the trust of alumni through fraudulent donations, Zhang Yufeng frequently asked acquaintances for money under the guise of investment schemes over the past year, failing to return it on time, leading several victims to report him to the police.
Huang Yifeng stated that Zhang Yufeng claimed to have some cryptocurrency schemes that could double in a few months. After the investments of his friends matured, Zhang Yufeng began to default and came up with many absurd excuses, such as being hospitalized in Hong Kong.
After several victims reported to the police, Zhang Yufeng's parents, who run a printing factory in Dongguan, helped repay part of the debt. Zhang Yufeng's rental at Shenzhen Bay No.1 was warned due to unpaid rent. Zhang Yufeng even defaulted on a 6,000 yuan online loan.
