The recent series of data released has paved the way for a "soft landing" for the US economy. With only two weeks left until the US election, markets are pricing in Trump's prospects of winning, and global financial markets are generally on an upward trend. According to monitoring, last week Dow Jones increased by 0.96%, SP 500 increased by 0.85%, Nasdaq increased by 0.80%. The three major US stock indices have risen for six consecutive weeks, with both SP and Dow setting records for longest weekly gains this year. The cryptocurrency market is replicating its historical uptrend that began in late October; as of press time, Bitcoin was quoted at $69,198 USD - just one step away from the $70k mark - with a cumulative weekly increase of 10.41%; Ethereum was quoted at $2741 USD with a weekly increase of approximately 11.95%.

In foreign exchange commodity markets, after continuous increases last Friday, the dollar index fell but still remained above the level of 103; it rose about 0.6% over the week and continued to rise for three weeks straight; due to heating up U.S elections and more monetary policies expected to ease further which boosted spot gold prices refreshing record highs on Thursday and Friday consecutively last week – increasing around 2.4% over the week while silver rose about seven percent reaching nearly twelve-year high levels; oil market performance was sluggish last week due to concerns about global demand outlooks and factors such as U.S pushing Gaza ceasefire causing WTI crude oil falling more than eight percent ending two-week rally while Brent crude dropped almost seven percent.

The global economy is welcoming unexpected benefits while optimistic sentiments are emerging in markets however political uncertainties remain as we approach crucial stages in U.S elections.
