The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the United States announced on X that federal agencies are only using an average of 12% of their total space at their headquarters in Washington D.C. The Department of Agriculture has a space that can accommodate more than 7,400 people, but on average only 456 staff members work there daily (an occupancy rate of 6%). Why should American taxpayers' money be spent maintaining vacant buildings?
