US Media: Trump takes credit for himself, posts to congratulate Bitcoin enthusiasts
According to the Associated Press, the price of Bitcoin broke through $100,000 for the first time this week, largely driven by Donald Trump's election as President of the United States. Hours before Bitcoin officially rose to six figures, Trump said he planned to nominate cryptocurrency advocate Paul Atkins as the next chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. A few hours after Bitcoin reached this milestone, Trump took credit on his social media platform Truth Social with a congratulatory message. He wrote: "Congratulations Bitcoin enthusiasts!! $100,000!! You're welcome!!! We will make America great again together!" However, analysts warn that such high-risk assets are not suitable for everyone; they are unstable and unpredictable and driven by speculation. After falling to about $91,000 on Friday, Bitcoin quickly rebounded.
