Andre Cronje: Sonic is running in "safe mode" and 1620 TPS has not yet reached its peak
Andre Cronje, co-founder of Sonic Labs, stated in a post on X that the Sonic network has not yet reached full speed (running in "safety mode" until enough validators migrate over), but has independently measured 850 TPS. Data disclosed by sealaunch.xyz shows that TPS reached a maximum of 1620 on December 18. Cronje stated, "1620 TPS, not yet at the maximum, independently measured. Sonic is a new paradigm." Earlier, Sonic Labs announced that its mainnet has officially launched, with Sonic capable of processing up to 10,000 transactions per second, sub-second finality, and a native decentralized gateway to Ethereum.
