Russian State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov proposed to equate all illegal miners with terrorists and put them in prison. According to him, cases of illegal cryptocurrency mining are still frequently detected in Chechnya.
It is noteworthy that representatives of various government and security agencies are involved in this, the parliamentarian noted. He drew attention to the fact that if persons involved in illegal cryptocurrency mining that harms residents are found, they will definitely be subject to severe punishment.
Delimkhanov stated that the problem with illegal mining is most acute in the Shali region of the republic, and the fight against it will definitely be intensified by the relevant structures.
The deputy emphasized that mining can, of course, be done, but only according to the rules established by law. If the rules are violated, then a prison term can be chosen as a punishment.
It should be noted that the Russian government has already approved the list regions and territories where mining virtual coins and participation in mining pools is prohibited from January 1, 2025. This ban will be in effect until the end of March 2031.
