MicroStrategy co-founder Michael Saylor shared a Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) chart from the SaylorTracker website on January 5, 2025, a post he typically makes on Sundays ahead of potential Bitcoin purchases the following day.

Saylor wrote on X, "Something about SaylorTracker.com is not quite right," hinting at an imminent Bitcoin acquisition.

The previous week, on December 29, 2024, Saylor posted the same chart ahead of MicroStrategy's purchase of 2,138 BTC on December 30, at an average price of $97,837 per coin.

Currently, MicroStrategy holds 446,400 Bitcoin, valued at around $43.7 billion.

The company is continuing to build its Bitcoin reserves as part of its 21/21 strategy, aiming to raise $42 billion through issuing $21 billion in equity and $21 billion in fixed-income securities.

This plan supports the company’s ongoing Bitcoin acquisition efforts.

In addition to its Bitcoin purchases, MicroStrategy made headlines when it was included in the Nasdaq 100 index on December 23, 2024.

This inclusion provided traditional stock investors indirect exposure to Bitcoin via exchange-traded funds.

Following its entry into the Nasdaq 100, MicroStrategy sought shareholder approval to increase its share count to finance additional Bitcoin purchases.

A December 23 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) detailed the company’s proposal to increase its class A common stock from 330 million shares to 10.3 billion shares and authorised preferred stock from 5 million to over 1 billion shares.

On January 4, 2025, MicroStrategy also announced plans to raise $2 billion through a perpetual preferred stock offering.

This new offering will have priority over common stock in case of bankruptcy and is expected in Q1 2025, pending approval.

At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin (BTC) price was $99,020.45.
