Russian government seizes $10M in Bitcoin from former official in bribery case
the Russian government has confiscated $10 million worth of Bitcoin from a former law enforcement official. Russian court officials have begun to confiscate Bitcoin from a former employee of the Russian Federal Investigation Committee (ICRF) in a large-scale bribery case related to cryptocurrency. Law enforcement officials have begun to confiscate about 103 Bitcoins belonging to former ICRF employee Marat Tambiev, who was convicted of cryptocurrency bribery in 2023. The confiscated Bitcoins will be included in Russia's national income as part of the legal process.
