Russian diamond mining worker sentenced to prison for sending crypto to Ukrainian militants
an employee of a Russian diamond mining company has been sentenced to prison for "providing economic assistance to Ukrainian terrorist organizations" by sending encrypted currency. The man is a male resident of Yakutmirningsky District (Sakha Republic, Far Eastern Russia). He was arrested by the Sakha Republic branch of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia. The FSB stated that the man "repeatedly used encrypted currency to transfer funds to Ukrainian armed militants," and that the organization used these funds to "conduct espionage and subversive activities against the security of the Russian Federation."
