Solana-based DEX aggregator Jupiter ’s account on social media platform X appeared hacked on Wednesday, apparently promoting fake meme cryptocurrencies.

“The main Jupiter Exchange account has been compromised,” Jupiter Mobile’s X handle wrote in a post , warning social media users not to click links. “Team is working on restoring access.”

In a series of now-deleted posts, Jupiter’s X account promoted what appeared to be a scam memecoin with the ticker $MEOW, according to multiple screenshots posted on the social media platform. The token appears to have taken its name from the pseudonymous co-founder of Jupiter, Meow.

“Traders lost millions instantly on this Jupiter account hack … literally in a matter of minutes,” wrote Beanie, the pseudonymous founder of crypto venture capital firm GM Capital. “It’s amazing how we trust these protocols with billions of dollars in liquidity but they’re not competent enough to protect their social media.”

Under Jupiter Mobile’s post alerting users of the hack, multiple X users claimed to have lost their Solana tokens.

While earlier posts have been deleted, Jupiter’s X account remains apparently compromised as of 9:15 p.m. ET, as the hacker continued to upload posts that promote another token with ticker $DCOIN.

Jupiter did not immediately respond to The Block’s request for comment.
