Telegram requires all crypto wallets to use TON Connect
a spokesperson for the TON Foundation stated that third-party encrypted wallets for Telegram must now use TON Connect as their exclusive wallet connection protocol. This new requirement is part of the collaboration between Telegram and the TON Foundation, making TON the only blockchain network supported by its messaging service. A representative for the foundation stated that existing mini-programs running on other blockchains must transition to TON by February 21, including bridging existing assets, migrating smart contracts, and specifically using TON Connect.
TON Connect is an open-source toolkit that serves as a "universal application authorization standard" or communication protocol between wallets and applications within the TON ecosystem. This toolkit allows users to use a TON wallet instead of more commonly used login names and passwords to access applications and services.
