U.S. Consumer Long-Term Inflation Expectations Rise to Highest in Three Decades in February
US consumers' expectations for long-term inflation rose to the highest level in 30 years, with respondents concerned that Trump's tariff hikes will lead to higher prices, Golden Financial reported. Consumers expect prices to rise at a rate of 3.5 per cent a year over the next five to 10 years, the highest level since 1995 in data compiled by Bloomberg, according to the University of Michigan's Consumer Confidence Survey.
