Telegram Founder: French Media Reports Claiming Telegram Forced to Comply with European Rules Are False
Telegram founder Pavel Durov stated on his personal channel: It is a fabrication that French media reported I was detained in France last summer, which ultimately forced Telegram to comply with European rules. Telegram has always complied with EU laws. After August last year, French police sent requests to Telegram in a legal manner regulated by the EU Digital Services Act, resulting in the French courts obtaining the IP addresses of criminal suspects from Telegram, well before I was detained in France.
