Arbitrum exits Nvidia AI accelerator after refusal to link with crypto

The Arbitrum Foundation announced its withdrawal from Nvidia’s Ignition AI Accelerator program after Nvidia requested that its brand not be mentioned in any public crypto-related announcements.

Originally, Arbitrum (CRYPTO:ARB) was set to become the exclusive Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) partner in the Nvidia- and Tribe-backed accelerator, which would have provided AI development guidance and cloud credits.

However, Nvidia changed its position in recent weeks, agreeing to collaborate only if the partnership was kept confidential regarding crypto activities.

“Arbitrum was not removed from the AI Ignition Accelerator - the team made the decision to disengage after Nvidia asked to remove its brand from crypto-related announcements, signaling a lack of long-term commitment,” a spokesperson for Arbitrum said.

The Ignition AI Accelerator clarified that Arbitrum requested to pull out of the partnership and denied earlier reports that Nvidia explicitly excludes crypto projects.

The Arbitrum Foundation described the withdrawal as a “sound business decision,” emphasizing its commitment to working with partners fully supporting blockchain innovation.

Other crypto projects, such as the Aptos Foundation, continue their partnerships with the Ignition AI Accelerator without such restrictions.

The decision means Arbitrum forfeited potential benefits from the program, including AI mentorship and cloud resources.

The ARB token’s market price remained stable following the announcement.

At the time of reporting, the Arbitrum price was $0.3301.
