Anchorage CEO: Reports on the Company Being Investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are "Completely Baseless"
On May 15, it was reported that Anchorage Digital CEO Nathan McCauley refuted claims that the company is under investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at the Consensus 2025 conference in Toronto, calling the reports "utter nonsense." Previously, Barron's had reported that an anti-money laundering task force under DHS was contacting former employees of the company to understand its business operations. McCauley stated that the company has confirmed through legal counsel that there is no investigation. Anchorage Digital is known for its strict compliance and received a BitLicense from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) last December, one of the most difficult regulatory licenses to obtain in the crypto industry.
