Ministry of Commerce: China urges the US to stop 232 tariff measures as soon as possible
on the afternoon of May 15th, the Ministry of Commerce held a routine press conference. Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yongqian said: Regarding the US imposing tariffs on imported cars, steel and aluminum under Section 232, and the US initiating a Section 232 investigation into imported drugs, China believes that the US actions are typical unilateralism and protectionism, which not only harm the interests of other countries and disrupt the rules-based multilateral trading system, but also do not benefit the development of its own industries. China urges the US to stop the Section 232 tariffs as soon as possible and to address the concerns of all parties through equal dialogue.
