Former Norwegian State Secretary Solberg to Become Secretary General of the Bitcoin Policy Institute
Morten Søberg, former State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, member of the Supervisory Council of Norges Bank, and Director of Public Affairs at SpareBank 1, will assume the position of Secretary-General of the newly established Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) in August 2025. The institute aims to oppose Bitcoin bans, promote legislative openness, and enhance public awareness of Bitcoin and the monetary system. Currently, BPI has received donations of approximately 1.517 BTC (around 1.6 million Norwegian kroner) and has 121 paying members.
