Meta is reorganizing its AI team to speed up the launch of new products and features
according to AXIOS, Meta Platforms (META.O) is restructuring its artificial intelligence team to accelerate the launch speed of new products and features. In an internal memo released on Tuesday, Chief Product Officer Chris Cox announced that the new architecture would divide the team into two branches: ① AI Product Team: led by Connor Hayes, responsible for Meta AI Assistant, AI Studio tools, and AI feature development within Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. ② General AI Foundation Team: jointly led by Ahmad Al-Dahle and Amir Frenkel, covering Llama model development, inference capability improvement, multimedia and speech technologies, etc. The company's existing AI research department FAIR (Foundation of AI Research) will remain independent, but a specific team focused on multimedia technology will be integrated into the newly established AGI Foundation Team.
