North Korean hacker group Lazarus Group attacks individual investors, stealing over $5.2 million in cryptocurrency
On May 29, it was reported that according to blockchain security analyst ZackXBT, the North Korean hacker organization Lazarus Group launched a cyber attack on individual cryptocurrency traders on May 24, stealing assets worth over $5.2 million from one trader. The hackers infiltrated exchange wallets, multi-signature wallets, and external accounts using sophisticated malware, then transferred the stolen funds to the mixing service Tornado Cash, with approximately 1,000 ETH laundered. Lazarus Group may have shifted its attack focus from institutions to individual investors.
