A Whale Misses Out on $10 Million Profit and Short Sells BTC, Losing $2.47 Million
According to a report by Jinse Finance, monitored by on-chain analyst Ember, a certain whale bought BTC at the end of March at a price of $85,751, which would have resulted in a profit of over $10 million if held until now. However, in mid-April, he sold at a loss at a price of $84,426, and a few days later, BTC rose to $110,000. After selling his spot holdings, he borrowed 124 WBTC and shorted them at a price of $84,558. These 124 WBTC were bought back 10 hours ago at a price of $104,444, resulting in a loss of $2.47 million. After closing the short position, he used 43.36 million USDT to buy 16,638 ETH at an average purchase price of $2,606. Currently, the price of ETH is $100 below his purchase price, resulting in an unrealized loss of $1.66 million.
