Federal Reserve Executive: Trump's Tariff Policy May Lead to Sustained High U.S. Inflation Rate
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Alberto Musalem, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, said in an interview with the Financial Times that U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff policy could lead to a sustained high inflation rate in the United States. He warned that U.S. policymakers will face economic uncertainty until the end of this summer. The Financial Times published the interview on the 6th. Musalem stated that Trump's tariff policy could raise U.S. inflation rates "within one to two quarters," and "another possible scenario is that the impact of tariffs on prices will last longer."
