US Department of Justice and Europol Seize Archetyp Market, the World’s Largest Monero Darknet Drug Marketplace
An international law enforcement operation has successfully dismantled one of the world’s largest darknet criminal marketplaces, "Archetyp Market." The platform is estimated to have generated over €250 million (approximately $267 million) in sales, relying exclusively on the privacy-focused cryptocurrency Monero (XMR) for transactions. The operation was coordinated by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Frankfurt Public Prosecutor’s Office in Germany, the German Federal Criminal Police Office, the Spanish National Police, and the Dutch National Police. Additional searches related to the platform were conducted in Germany and Sweden, resulting in the arrest of seven Swedish suspects. The main suspects will face charges under German law for operating a large-scale drug trafficking network.
