US Media: Trump Privately Approved Attack Plans Against Iran but Did Not Issue Final Order
According to a report by Jinse Finance, citing the Wall Street Journal, three sources familiar with the matter revealed that U.S. President Trump told senior aides on Tuesday night local time that he had approved a plan to attack Iran, but had not yet issued the final order, in order to determine whether Iran would abandon its nuclear program. Since Trump issued a secret directive to the military in the White House Situation Room, he has publicly stated that military strikes remain an option. In an interview with reporters on Wednesday, he said, "I have some ideas about what to do, but I haven't made a final decision yet—I tend to make the final decision one second before the deadline." According to sources, Trump hopes to force Iran to meet his demands by threatening to join Israel in attacking Iran. He acknowledged that the U.S. is considering launching a strike, but stated that he may still decide not to proceed with the attack.
