On Wednesday, Trump’s doubts about the likelihood of a successful operation were cited as one of the reasons he is still weighing whether to launch a strike. U.S. officials stated that Trump needs confirmation on three points: that such a strike is truly necessary, that it will not drag the U.S. into a prolonged conflict in the Middle East, and most importantly, that it can actually achieve the goal of destroying Iran’s nuclear program.
