Iran’s Supreme Leader’s “Advisor”: Iran Should Strike U.S. Naval Fleets and Close the Strait of Hormuz
According to CNN, a key advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is calling for missile strikes against US naval vessels and the closure of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil shipping route. Hossein Shariatmadari, editor-in-chief of Iran's Kayhan newspaper, warned, "After the US attack on the Fordow nuclear facility, it is now our turn to act." As a prominent conservative voice, he has previously described himself as a "representative" of Supreme Leader Khamenei. He stated, "As a first step, we must launch missile strikes against the US Navy fleet stationed in Bahrain without hesitation or delay, and simultaneously close the Strait of Hormuz to ships from the US, UK, Germany, and France." So far, Supreme Leader Khamenei has not issued an official response regarding the US attack on Iran's nuclear facility. (Jin10)
