Zelensky: No Russia-Ukraine Talks for Now, Considering Reassigning Ukraine’s Defense Minister as Ambassador to the US
According to a report by Jinse Finance, citing CCTV News, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated in an interview that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will not be held for the time being, as the agreed prisoner exchange between the two sides has not yet been completed. Zelensky also mentioned that he is considering appointing the current Ukrainian Defense Minister, Umerov, as ambassador to the United States. He indicated that Ukraine will definitely replace its ambassador to the U.S. in the near future. On the same day, Zelensky said that after having a constructive and positive dialogue with U.S. President Trump, Ukraine has received all the necessary political signals, and all indications point to the U.S. resuming its aid to Ukraine. He emphasized, "We have reached agreements on all these issues." Zelensky stated that regarding the supply of the Patriot air defense missile system, Ukraine had positive discussions with Trump. At present, Ukraine has requested the Patriot air defense missile system and supporting missiles. Germany has expressed willingness to procure two sets for Ukraine, and Norway will procure one set.
