ENS Executive Director: ENS considers launching its internal Layer 2 network
According to BlockBeats news on February 8th, Khori Whittaker, the executive director of Ethereum Name Service (ENS), revealed that ENS is "heavily" focused on researching ways to build its protocol on the Ethereum Layer2 network, and may even consider launching its own internal Layer 2. While remaining silent on the specific details of its research and development process, the ENS team is currently discussing whether to integrate on the existing Ethereum Layer2 network or release an internal L2 called the "identity layer". Whittaker revealed that most of the discussions among ENS developers are focused on development on Optimism.
